| Description: | Summary:
The Membership Services Representative will advance the Denver Zoos mission and goals by providing customer service to new, existing, and potential members via telephone, mail, online & on site.
Essential Functions:
Provides high quality customer service to new and existing members by explaining membership benefits, categories, and policies.
Sells and processes new and renewed memberships, encourages category upgrades and responds to member questions and concerns.
Processes online memberships and Adopt an Animal purchases.
Performs quality checking, benefit fulfillment, and mailing memberships and membership program materials. Performs name, address, and category changes.
Processes incoming mail including new and renewed memberships, adopts, matching gifts, etc.; posts outgoing mail using postage meter.
Immediately fulfills membership packets at point of sale counter.
Processes cash and check transactions; runs credit card batches.
Processes incoming membership lockbox checks and credit card transactions batches.
Answers incoming phone calls and email inquiries and returns voice mail messages.
Provides break relief for front counter staff, as needed.
Prepares membership folders or packets.
Additional Responsibilities:
Seek out additional work that needs to be accomplished during slow times.
Stock the front counter with needed materials.
Responds to Member email box, as needed.
Perform various tasks as assigned.
Qualifications:
High school degree or equivalent
Minimum two years experience in data entry, customer service, including call centers and working with the public
Must be able to work holidays, additional hours and/or alternate shifts during zoo functions and Zoo Lights.
Excellent data entry skills
Experience with Windows based applications
Raisers Edge experience a significant plus
Strong verbal and written communication skills
Detail oriented
Ability to work in a team environment
Flexible and ability to multi- task
Ability to work in a fast paced environment
Respect for confidentiality
Work Environment:
The employee works in an office. This position requires a substantial amount of contact with our guest, staff, volunteers, members and other departments.
Shift and Compensation:
Sunday through Thursday 8:00 am to 4:30 pm (schedule will be adjusted to accommodate Zoo Lights)
$11-$12 hour, depending on experience
